Picked up 2 games that I had the empty boxes for today from New2You, a local pawn shop. The two games in question are Airwolf and RBI Baseball. I am still missing the manuals for both, although I was sure I had the Airwolf manual. Paid $10 for both, not great, but around here $5 a game is the average. I miss the days when I could easily find games for $3 a piece.
I am sure most people reading this have played Friday the 13th for NES, if not you better have a good excuse because it's a pretty popular game and I don't think it has ever been considered rare. I have a complete copy of the game and today I picked up the Friday the 13th box set for $30. It has the first 8 movies in the series, and another disc full of extras too. Works out to less than $4 a movie.
I am planning a trip to the flea market tomorrow, so with some luck I might be able to find a few more games I need. I am hoping to find a bunch so I can try to haggle the price down a bit or at the least get them to trow in one game for free. Not too many vendors left that still sell NES games at my local flea market, so I am going to start looking for some a little farther from home with better variety. I know there are more within a short drive but it's been so long I forget were they are. I just hope there still open.

Collection Pictures
Thursday, December 14, 2006 - by Cameron |
Yes I finally did it. After a year of promising to put some pictures of my collecting up I finally did it. If you click on the image below you will be sent to my flikr photo set of my collection, enjoy.
Unfortunately they are already out of date, because since I took them I have won several eBay auctions and about half of the game have shown up at my door. Once the rest of the games show up I will post some more pictures and I will update my games list. I also want to add more information about the condition of each game instead of just the names. Hopefully this time it won't take a year for me to get it all done.

eBay Auction Delivered
Wednesday, December 13, 2006 - by Cameron |
One of my recent eBay auctions arrived today. It was an auction of NES boxes, no games, just boxes. They are all in really good condition, and there a few that I really wanted. My copy of California Games is now complete, and that is one of my favorite games. I am happy to have it complete. Other notable boxes in the lot:
Also to my surprise the Wii Component Cables I ordered arrived today too. They were supposed to be on back order, so I figured they wouldn't get to me until the end of the month. They took less than a week to arrive, and I spent some time enjoying Zelda in 480p. I did notice a difference with 480p, much brighter colors and sharper edges. It does make the jaggies more obvious, but on the whole it is a much better picture.

- Star Wars
- River City Ransom
- G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor
- Donkey Kong
- Donkey Kong Jr.

If you have been to any NES board or done a search on ebay for NES games then you have probably seen NationalGameDepot aka Jason Smith. He has just featured in an article on MTV.com and I suggest you head over here and read it. It is an interesting piece on NES collecting.
Congratulations on being featured.
